Camp includes two days of sessions led by special guest coaches:
Advanced: Katelyn Charbonneau, and Debbie Warne-Jacobsen
Learn To Skate: Jessica Daniels, and Isabelle Prischmann. And our own: Katie Rauber
Camp will include: Jump Technique, Spin Technique, Moves in the Field, Strength & Conditioning, Choreography, Nutrition Class, and Off-ice Sessions.
Lunch & Snacks will be served.
Campers will be broken down into 3 groups:
- Advance Camp - PRE-PRELIMINARY AND UP
- Saturday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
- Sunday 8:00am -2:00pm
- $100 for SVFSC Members, $150 for non members
- Learn To Skate Camp - BASIC 4 - FREESKATE 6
- Saturday and Sunday 8:00 am - 1:00 pm (may leave after lunch)
- $50 for SVFSC Members, $75 for non members
- Learn To Skate Camp - SNOW PLOW SAM - BASIC 3
- $25 and is only for SVFSC Members.
- Saturday and Sunday 10:00 am - 1:00 pm (may leave after lunch)
- Parents of skaters in this group must stay for the duration of their skaters camp time. Parents are expected to put their childs skates on/off, help them with the bathroom if needed, and help their child during lunch to get their food and clean up after themselves.

Katelyn Charbonneau Shurts
Advanced Coach

Kate Charbonneau Shurts has been coaching full time since 2012 and is currently teaching in the Minneapolis, MN area. She has also been teaching learn-to-skate classes since 2008. Kate is the 2009 Canadian Junior Ladies Champion, a Junior Grand Prix silver medalist (Croatia Cup in 2009), and a World Junior competitor (6th place). She also competed in the 2010 Canadian Olympic trials where she placed 7th. Kate is a USFS triple gold medalist. In 2014-2015, Kate was the head coach of Tyringe Konstokning Klub in Sweden where she had students medal at international events and compete at the Swedish National Championships. She has also been the head and assistant coach to international competitors from Slovakia, multiple Minnesota state champions, and multiple USFS Gold Medalists in Freestyle, Dance and Moves in the Field.

Debbie Warne-Jacobsen is a National level figure skating coach with a special interest in development and creating strong technique and foundation for competitive figure skaters at all levels. She is a U.S. Figure Skating and Professional Skater's Association Member Coach. She has coached Regional, Sectional and Minnesota State champions and medalists, U.S. National competitors and U.S. Figure Skating Gold Medalists. As a skater, she trained at the Broadmoor Skating Club under Olympic coaches Carlo and Christa Fassi. She coaches freestyle, moves in the field, electric spinner, off ice jump technique, conditioning and off ice jump harness in a private or group setting. She loves working with all levels and ages from beginners through advanced level competitors, tots to adults.

Jessica Daniels

Jessica Daniels skated with the Fergus Falls Skating Club for 13 years. She now is U.S figure skating compliant and has 17 years of coaching experience.
Her test achievements include: intermediate freestyle, adult gold dance, and preliminary figure. Jessica also has an M.S. in Molecular, Cellular, Developmental Biology & Genetics!

Katie was one of the first members of Southern Valley Figure Skating Club, she has been active in skating for 35+ years. Katie represented SVFSC for most of her competitive skating career and started her coaching career in the first apprenticeship program offered by SVFCS. Katie built a successful skating school in Brookings, SD, Huron, SD and Watertown, SD. She has also judged Leap N' Compete competitions for SVFSC for several years.

Skating is my passion! I am a Gold Medalist in Moves in the Field, as I have completed the senior moves in the field test. I am currently working on my Junior Freeskate. I still skate for myself as there is no better way to learn than to practice. I have skated with SVFSC since 2001 and have been coaching with them for 9 years. I also coach for the Fergus Falls Figure Skating Club. I spent 1 year coaching abroad in Osby, Sweden and traveling for competitions with Osby figure skaters. I want skaters to be successful but loving to skate and having fun is most important!

Nikki Johnson is a registered dietitian and works as a Community Health and Nutrition Specialist for North Dakota State University Extension and the University of Minnesota Extension. For the past 12 years, Nikki has been providing education and promoting health and wellness to individuals and families across Minnesota and North Dakota.
Yoga Instructor
Janessa Pagel
Janessa, owner and operator of Rise Studio has been a certified massage therapist since 2010, she became a certified yoga instructor in 2021. Janessa will continue to provide both yoga and massage to Wahpeton and Breckenridge in this absolutely lovely space. The name Rise Studio embodies the idea of personal growth, transformation, and the idea of rising above challenges. It represents not only the rise of individuals but also the collective power we have as a community to uplift and support one another.!
